Care and safety
Empty and refill with fresh water daily, clean every third day, and use distilled water to prevent white mineral dust. Aroma oils go in the water, a few drops at a time; rinse the tank before you switch scents. Place Avant on a flat, water-resistant surface at least 12 inches from walls and furniture, and keep it out of reach of children.

Can a humidifier help with dry skin or a dry throat?

How big a room can Avant handle?
Avant is rated for rooms up to 440 sq ft.2 How quickly it raises humidity depends on room size, ceiling height, temperature and how dry the air is to start with.
How do I fill it?
From the top. Lift off the cover, pour cool, clean water straight into the tank up to the MAX line (2.2 L), then put the cover back on. There's no tank to carry to the sink or turn upside down.
How quiet is it?
It's rated under 36 dB.1 Sound varies with the mist setting, and Sleep mode runs the mist low for the quietest nights.
Does Avant measure or hold a set humidity level?
No. Avant keeps things simple: choose High, Low or Sleep, plus a 2, 4 or 8-hour timer or continuous running. For precise control, pair it with an inexpensive hygrometer and aim for 30–50% humidity.3
What water should I use?
Distilled or demineralized water is best. Tap water works, but in hard-water areas its minerals can leave a fine white dust and build up as scale.4
How do I keep it clean?
Every day, lift off the cover, tip out any leftover water, wipe the tank dry and refill. Every third day, unplug Avant, empty it, wipe the tank and mist plate with a soft cloth, remove any scale with diluted white vinegar, then rinse well and let it air-dry.4
Can I add essential oils?
Yes. Avant works with aroma oils: add a few drops of essential oil straight into the water when you fill it. Use pure essential oils rather than fragrance oils, give the tank a quick rinse before you switch scents, and check that your oil is safe if you have pets.
Can I use the timer in Sleep mode?
The timer and night light work in High and Low modes. Sleep mode runs until you switch it off or the water runs low, when Avant turns itself off.
