Avant Nursery.
A quiet cool-mist humidifier for the nursery, with a free hygrometer so you always know the room's number.
What it will be
A cool-mist humidifier made for a baby's room: a humidistat that holds the humidity you set, auto shut-off when the water runs low, a top-fill tank you can carry in one hand, mist you can turn down to a whisper, and every light off for the night. In the box, a small hygrometer for the dresser, free, so the number is never a guess.
Why the number matters
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recommends keeping indoor humidity between 30 and 50 percent, and says a humidifier should be cleaned regularly and never left to push the room above that range. A hygrometer tells you where you are; the humidifier takes you there and stops. EPA, Use and Care of Home Humidifiers.
What we won't say
We won't tell you a humidifier helps a cold, a cough or a night's sleep. We'll tell you the number, how to hold it, and how to keep the tank clean. General information, not medical advice: for your baby, ask your pediatrician.
